Great staff, clean and organized grounds. Felt very safe. Nothing fancy, but you won't be spending much time there so it doesn't matter!
And last, the people camping here are probably the most unfriendly people I've ever come across. We were there over a week because of the hurricane, and not one person said hello or even made eye contact.
There are trains that comes through all times of the day and night. Not just a toot of the horn, but BEEP BEEP BEEP. We just couldn't take it anymore. We left early.
Nice big spaces but you have to back in. The staff is helpful and friendly. This KOA is easy to find but just don't use your GPS and instead, use THEIR directions. It is close enough to where ever you want to be in New Orleans. If you don't want to drive, they have their own shuttle to the French Quarter, which is great. We travel with a large dog and the dog area is a good size, fenced in nicely and very well lighted at night.
Overpriced for the amenities. They only have 4 showers for the entire park. Sites are very tight. The laundry was nice.
This is a nice place but didn't make the cut. The bathrooms and showers are clean as is the laundry room. They do have a complimentary shuttle to Bourbon Street but the dopey Mayor of the City decided to do major construction with the busy season coming up, and Bourbon Street won't be ready in time - the streets are closed for the most part. The downside for us at least, is the shuttle leaves at 9am and 5pm - not very convenient times, but it at least they offer it.
This KOA really should offer trash pick-up. There are people riding around in golf carts, so I'm sure they can do it instead of staring into space. The RV spots are close, but clean. The last 3 days we were there, there were a bunch of people (3 campsites) with people yelling all day long and into the night.
Good safe location. 20 plus minutes to Burbon street. Worth not having to worry about your trailer being broken into while you gone. Bill and his wife were very helpful and kind. We will come back here next time we are in town.
